E' notte a PacVillage, quando i fantasmi, acerrimi nemici di PacMan, decidono di intrufolarsi nella piazza principale e, spaventati da ogni singola ombra o figura pacmanoide intorno a loro, raggiungono i frutti d'oro appesi alla grande quercia. I quattro non possono sapere che, secoli addietro, un terribile demone di nome Spooky sia stato rinchiuso nell'albero e che i frutti d'oro the seal is holding him in jail. Spooky back alive and well, eager for revenge, "recruits" the ghosts to take control of PacLand, assigning to each of them one of the golden fruit to be protected. It's up to PacMan of course set out in search of artifacts and then again the terrible challenge Spooky.
